Everything you need to approve, budget and order meal delivery equipment.
We have supplied senior nutrition programs since 1977. This page collects what your board, your funders and your finance office usually ask for.
How many trays does your program need?
Plan on about 2¼ trays for every meal you deliver each day. That covers today's meals, yesterday's trays coming back for washing, and a cushion for growth and losses.
Before shipping. A case holds 40 trays and lids and ships UPS Ground. A pallet holds 20 cases (800 trays and lids) and ships by freight; we email you a freight quote first. Prices can change.
Budget justification you can adapt
We request [amount] to replace single-use meal trays with commercial-grade REusable trays and lids for our home-delivered meal program, which serves [number] meals per day.
REusable trays are microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. Over two years, disposable trays cost 2.5 to 5 times as much, and REusable trays typically pay for themselves within 6 to 9 months. The easy-open lids are designed for seniors with limited hand strength, and the change reduces the waste our program sends to landfill.
Equipment will be purchased from Nutri-Systems Corporation (Malden, MA), which has supplied senior nutrition programs since 1977.
